At Westview we are…

Spirit-Led

We seek direction, discernment and empowerment from the Holy Spirit in order to worship, glorify and serve God.

Our direction, wisdom and empowerment come from the Holy Spirit as we listen with humility to God’s voice. We use our spiritual gifts to serve others and desire to see the fruit of the Spirit in each person.

Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of Hosts. Zechariah 4:6

All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.   John 16:15

Moved by Grace

We receive God’s grace and respond by extending grace to one another.

Life is messy but God doesn’t give up on us. We desire to be so marked by God’s grace that it defines and transforms our relationships with each other, our community and the world around us.

The LORD is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion. Psalm 116:5

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.   Ephesians 4:32

A Place for Everyone

We are all made in the image of God and recognize the dignity of every human being.

God loves everyone and we love each other in our struggles and our joys. Let’s walk together as we learn to follow Jesus. Everyone has a place to serve and grow at Westview.

So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.   Genesis 1:27

There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.   Galatians 3:28

Relational

We love each other and do life together.

God invites us into a loving relationship with himself and with those around us. As we grow closer to God and one another, the community flourishes through hospitality, discipleship, and service.

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.   John 13:34

Spur on one another to good deeds, meeting together, encouraging one another. Hebrews 10: 24-25

Rooted in the Word

God’s Word is authoritative, alive and dynamic, it renews and nourishes us.

God reveals himself through his authoritative Word. It is a living Word that feeds and guides us, that changes and transforms us. It instructs us and equips us to live godly lives.

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16,17

In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1
