Let’s be in prayer for Jamaica and other areas of the Caribbean dealing with the devastating impact of Hurricane Melissa; with many people having lost their lives, families and communities in grief, homes destroyed, neighbourhoods flooded. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have been deeply impacted by this heart-breaking disaster - including those in our own church family and community with family and friends there. Pray that comfort would be there for those grieving the loss of loved ones; that relief would be provided to the many left vulnerable, needing shelter, food and water; courage and resilience to face the challenges of recovery and rebuilding in the wake of the hurricane; and that strength would be provided to those offering emergency relief, aid and support, that they may work safely and effectively to bring comfort, healing and hope. In all the devastation, that they may know God’s steadfast presence.
