Job Type: Part Time - 20 hours/week

Description

Our children’s ministry aims to be a safe place where children from diverse cultural backgrounds can learn about God and practice their faith with their peers under the guidance of their teachers. Children’s ministry at Westview is thriving and growing, and we are looking for the right person to give guidance and leadership for the continued growth of this exciting and important ministry.

Our ideal Children’s Ministry Director will:

• Develop and uphold the vision, goals and culture of the children’s ministry

• Plan and oversee Sunday and Summer Children’s programming from preschool to grade four

• Establish curriculum that covers the spiritual development of children; as part of the overall discipleship plan for children and youth at Westview

• Recruit, retain, and train volunteer teams

• Empower parents in their God-given mandate as the primary sources of discipleship for their children

Qualifications:

• Contagious relationship with Jesus

• Experience in leading a children’s ministry and volunteer teams

• Effective communicator

• Ability to connect with children, parents and families

• Education in children’s ministry and/or theology an asset

• Ability to work in Canada
